Art Display Guidelines

Display Guidelines: Share Your Art and Collections

The Fort Walton Beach Public Library proudly offers exhibit space to our local residents for showcasing their art and collections! We are delighted to support free expression in all its wonderful forms.

If you are an artist or collector residing in the area, we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to display your work at our library. The process is straightforward:

  • Read these Display Guidelines to become familiar with the terms and conditions
  • Submit the Display Agreement Form (PDF) with your contact information and a description/sample of your work or collection
  • The library will review your submission. If selected, the library will work with you to determine the length of the exhibition, placement, labeling, and other relevant aspects.

We believe in fostering a supportive environment for artists and in promoting diverse perspectives. As the library is an inclusive public space, open to people of all ages and sensibilities, we reserve the right to decline exhibits that do not align with the library's educational mission. Exhibits are on display at the discretion of the Library Manager. Additionally, the display of items does not in any way constitute support by the City of Fort Walton Beach or the Library of any group's ideals or beliefs.

While we strive to accommodate as many artists as possible, please understand that exhibits will be on a space-available basis. Exhibits may be cut short or preempted by a library event, a unique exhibition opportunity, or unexpected conditions.

Displays typically run for 2 months, but we are open to discussing alternate arrangements if needed. The set-up and removal of items will be the responsibility of the exhibitors as arranged with our Adult Services Librarian. Any changes must be made with the Adult Services Librarian in advance.

We value the safety and integrity of our library space, so we kindly ask that nothing be attached to the library walls or furniture. We will gladly accommodate your artwork using our existing equipment.

Please note that the library will not act as a selling agent for the artworks, and prices are not to be displayed alongside the exhibits. Our goals are:

  • To provide a platform for artists to showcase their talents and creativity to the community
  • To provide a venue for unique collections to be exhibited
  • To foster an appreciation for art and collecting without commercial considerations

To foster an appreciation for art and collecting without commercial considerations

To promote your exhibit, we request that any publicity materials be cleared by our Adult Services Librarian to ensure they align with our promotional guidelines. The logo of the Fort Walton Beach Library may not be used in publicity without express permission from the Library Manager. Business cards may be left to give to interested parties.

While we strive to protect the displayed items, please remember that the library is an open public space, and the library will not be held responsible for any loss, theft, and/or damage to the exhibited pieces.

If you have any questions, please reach out by calling the library or emailing the library. We eagerly look forward to celebrating your creativity and collections with our vibrant community!
