Fort Walton Beach Landing Park renovation

Located at 139 Brooks Street SE in the heart of downtown Fort Walton Beach, the Fort Walton Beach Landing features 700 feet of waterfront overlooking Santa Rosa Sound. For decades this park has been the site of the annual Billy Bowlegs Pirate Festival and has hosted numerous other festivals and concerts over the years.

A long-anticipated renovation of the park began this spring, and crews with GLC Contracting, Inc. and Property Image Marine are currently working on Phase I of the project, which includes a new seawall, a concrete boardwalk along the waterfront, a new dock on the west end and a “pocket beach” and kayak launch on the park’s east side.

Phase 2 of the renovation will include a performance stage and tiered amphitheater seating, new restrooms, lighting and walking paths.

The park improvements have a variety of funding sources, including the Community Redevelopment Agency, a Natural Resource Damage Assessment grant, RESTORE Acting funding, as well as funding from Okaloosa County’s Tourist Development Department and the Half-Cent surtax revenue.
