Boards & Committees
Thank you for your interest in volunteering to serve on one of the City of Fort Walton Beach's Boards or Committees.
The City encourages citizens to become actively involved in their City by attending City Council meetings, Board meetings, or by volunteering to serve on one of the City's Boards or Committees. Board members play an important role in our City government.
A description of current City Volunteer Boards can be found on each board page.
All Volunteer positions are Council-appointed positions.
Once you submit an application and a seat becomes open, your application may be reviewed and voted on during a regularly scheduled Council meeting.
The City Clerk's office will inform you if you are being considered for an available seat after you have been selected to fill a seat.
All Boards are governed by either the Land Development Code or the Code of Ordinances.
It is important to understand that all board members require the filing of a financial disclosure form within thirty days of your appointment and annually thereafter. Failure to file this form in a timely fashion could result in penalties. This requirement does not pertain to the Youth Council. To learn more about this required filing please visit the Florida Commission on Ethics website.
For additional information about any Board or Committee, call the City Clerk's Office at 850-833-9509.
Prohibition of Dual Office Holding: see Article II, section 5(a), of the Florida Constitution and Florida Statute 99.012.
