Learn the art of Middle Eastern Dance! Instruction includes basic foundations, body movements, and choreography.
Beginner: open to all, with a focus on dance conditioning and learning the proper posture and basic movements. Light choreography will be incorporated to combine the moves into a more meaningful workout.
Mondays: 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Intermediate: open to students with previous experience and some mastery of the basic foundation. These classes are more challenging and will focus on choreography, form and posture, and the extensive use of props (veils, cane, zills).
Wednesdays: 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
$40/month or drop-in fee of $15
Participants will learn striking, kicking below the waist, joint-locks, takedowns, pressure points, ground survival, weapon disarming and more. Build your self-confidence by learning simple, effective techniques. Your fitness and stamina will increase while sparring which is done in every class not just once in a while.
Mondays and Wednesdays: 6:00 p.m. for youth ages 5 & up, 7:00 p.m. for adult classes
Are you ready to party yourself into shape? That’s exactly what Zumba is all about. It’s the exhilarating, effective, easy to follow, Latin-inspired, calorie-burning dance fitness party that is moving many toward joy and health. Zumba classes feature high energy Latin and international beats like salsa, merengue, cumbia, reggae, hip-hop, and more, all in the same class!
Tuesdays and Thursdays: 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Saturdays: 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
$50/month; 10-punch card (good for 90 days) for $40, Drop-in fee of $5
Creative Dance Class
Dance program for children between 3 and 12 years of age. The creative dance program is a combination of tap, ballet, and jazz dance. The course follows the academic calendar year (August through May) and classes meet weekly. The program culminates in a May recital to be held in the FWB auditorium.
