Community Service Unit
The Fort Walton Beach Police Department Community Service Unit wishes to develop and utilize programs applicable to you, the citizens of Fort Walton Beach. We are anxious to work with homeowners and homeowner's associations, businesses and business organizations, and civic leaders and civic organizations. We will offer information in reference to current crime trends, and methods of crime prevention to combat these trends.
* R.U.O.K. (Are you okay?) is a computerized telephone calling system, that is designed to call disabled persons, shut-in persons who live alone or anyone in our community who needs to be checked on daily. This is a free service to all citizens within the City limits of Fort Walton Beach.
The above programs are in addition to the Citizen's Police Academy, an 11-week course designed for improved citizen awareness of the Police Department and the criminal justice system. The Citizen's Police Academy is free of charge and enrollment criteria and applications (that may be downloaded) can be found on the City's Website: www.fwb.org
Please do not hesitate to request a special program if one that suits your needs is not listed. If we can be of any assistance, please contact our Community Service Unit at 833-9558 or 833-9544.
