The Human Resources Department accepts applications for Firefighter positions year-round; however, the Fort Walton Beach Fire Department hires Firefighters by testing and interviewing qualified applicants and forming a hiring list based on the test results. The testing process is done normally once a year. The last testing was conducted and a new hiring list compiled in August 2014.
All applications for Firefighter submitted from August 2014 until the next testing is scheduled will be reviewed. We will send out notification to all qualified applicants that we will be testing. If you meet the minimum qualifications based on your application, you will be invited to test.
If you are a veteran, please also submit the Applicant Survey Form/Veterans’ Preference.
