The Fort Walton Beach City Council approved a new restroom facility for Jet/Holmes Park and a nature trail following Coral Creek as part of the consent agenda during Tuesday night’s City Council meeting. In other business, the City Council took the following actions:

10.110.1. 2130 Ordinance Amending the Fire Fighters Retirement Fund -- Recommends City Council adoption of Ordinance No. 2130 to amend the City of Fort Walton Beach
Municipal Firefighters’ Pension Trust by extending the terms of the Board Member from the current 2-year terms to 4-year terms.
RESULT: Passed 5-0

12.1. 2024 City Council Regular Meeting Schedule -- Recommends City Council approval of the 2024 City Council Regular Meeting schedule.
RESULT: Passed 5-0
Fort Walton Beach Mayor Dick Rynearson recognized members of the (local) Psi Iota Iota chapter of the national Omega Psi Phi Fraternity for their past achievements and their month-long program of academic and social activities planned for November. Mayor Rynearson read a proclamation declaring “Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. Achievement Week” in the City of Fort Walton Beach.
Mayor Rynearson also recognized Fort Walton Beach High School student Alessandro Chavarin with the city’s Award for Civic Excellence (ACE) during Tuesday night’s meeting.
City Manager Jeff Peters unveiled to the City Council a new promotional logo the city will be using entitled “FWB365: Live, Work, Play Everyday.”
