Item 8.1: 2023-20 Resolution to Amend the FY 2022-23 Budget
Recommends City Council adoption of Resolution 2023-20 to amend the FY 2022-23 original amended adopted budget total of $59,129,382 to $79,528,160 to be audit compliant.
RESULT: PASSED 7-0
Item 8.2: 2023-21 Resolution to Accept Bureau of Justice Grant Funding for Patrick Leahy Bulletproof Vests
Recommends City Council adoption of Resolution 2023-21 accepting $6,525.00 in grant funding from U.S. Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs for the purchase of Bullet Proof Vests for the Fort Walton Beach Police Department.
RESULT: PASSED 7-0
9. ACTION-DIRECTION-DISCUSSION
Item 9.1: Charter Amendment Discussion
The City Manager and City Attorney are requesting direction from the City Council regarding proposed charter amendments.
Council directed the city attorney to reword the charter amendments to meet legal requirements while keeping the original intent of the amendments and to bring that back to the council for review.
RESULT: Passed 7-0

Mayor Dick Rynearson recognized Fort Walton Beach High School student Angelina Romano and Choctawhatchee High School student Addison Aden with the City’s Award for Civic Excellence (ACE) Award.
Samantha Abell, on behalf of the Florida City and County Management Association, recognized the City of Fort Walton Beach on its 70th anniversary of the Council Manager form of government.
