Code Enforcement Board

Overview

The Code Enforcement Board enforces the provisions of the City's Codes and Ordinances (i.e. building maintenance, grass height, signage). This board has the authority to impose administrative fines and other non-criminal penalties. The powers, duties, and responsibilities of the Code Enforcement Board shall comply with the requirements set forth in Chapter 162, Part I, of the Florida Statutes. There are seven members who are appointed to three-year terms and two alternates who do not have term limits.

To serve, you must be a City of Fort Walton Beach resident for one year and be a registered voter. Members are limited to two successive terms. The board meets the second (2nd) Wednesday of each month at 4 pm in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
