A Downtown Holiday 2017

On Saturday, December 2, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the City of Fort Walton Beach and The Downtown Fort Walton Beach Organization proudly present “A Downtown Holiday!” Located at the beautiful Fort Walton Landing Park on Brooks Street, this

event is fun for the whole family with a day of holiday shopping and vendors available, plus live entertainment, kids’ activities, and the City’s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. to top it all off! For event or vendor inquiries, contact events.downtownfwb@gmail.

 2017 Crafts and Collectibles Show

The FWB Senior Center’s 2017 Crafts and Collectibles Show is scheduled for Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Admission is free and shoppers can find a variety of handmade items and unique collectibles available for purchase. Door prizes will

be awarded throughout the event and concessions and baked goods will be available for sale. The 2017 Crafts and Collectibles Show will be located at the Fort Walton Beach Recreation Center at 132 Jet Drive NW. For more information about the show or how to become a

City of FWB Presents “The 12 Days of Christmas” Parade

Celebrate “The 12 Days of Christmas,” FWB style this year as the City of Fort Walton Beach hosts its annual Christmas Parade at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, December 4th, 2017! Float applications are now being accepted. Parade Officials are eagerly looking forward to a glowing evening, and encourage schools, bands, youth groups, churches and businesses, as well as civic, military, religious, and service organizations to participate. Musical entertainment will be provided by area school bands and participating applicants as the parade march moves up Eglin Parkway from First Street to the K-Mart parking lot. A panel of prominent citizens will judge the event and the winners will be awarded plaques and recognized at a City Council Meeting.  Christmas Open House at Camp Walton Schoolhouse Museum

The City of Fort Walton Beach Heritage Park & Cultural Center will hold its annual Christmas Open House at the Camp Walton Schoolhouse Museum on Saturday, December 2, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Come join the museum for a free admission day including children’s crafts, old-fashioned games and toys, butter churning and sampling, light refreshments, local history, and the beautifully decorated Camp Walton Schoolhouse Museum which turned 100 years old in 2012.

The Garnier Post Office Museum and Civil War Exhibit building will also bedecorated for an old-fashioned celebration as visitors enjoy activities and refreshments during the day. The open house includes free admission to the four museums of Heritage Park & Cultural Center with the Indian Temple Mound Museum open 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Head over to the Landing after you finish at the schoolhouse and continue the holiday fun with the City of Fort Walton Beach tree lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m.

 Museum Store Sale at the Indian Temple Mound Museum

The City of Fort Walton Beach Heritage Park & Cultural Center will hold its annual Museum Store Sale from November 27th through December 9th, 2017 during regular museum operating hours. All merchandise will be 20% off.

Share unique presents with your loved ones such as handmade jewelry, pottery, beadwork, and textiles. Featured items were made by some of the finest local and regional artisans like Mercedes Rogers, Grady Smith, Diane Hutchens, John Jansen, and Sandra “Sunfeather” Lee. Shoppers will

 

also find a great selection of books, DVD’s, CD’s, and many smaller items that make great stocking stuffers for adults and children.

The museum gift shop is open from 12:00 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturdays. Discount during regular business hours only. Additional discounts do not apply.
