August Sanitation Special: Household Waste Pickups!

Need to get rid of some old stuff? Clean out your garage or attic?

The City of Fort Walton Beach Sanitation Division is here to help! During the month of August, residents of The City of Fort Walton Beach (incorporated) can leave their unwanted household items curbside for pickup on their regularly scheduled yard waste day; no extra charge and you do not have to call for a Friday appointment!

We can remove such items as: furniture, mattresses, old grills, and appliances. We cannot take hazardous items, construction debris, or tires.

For your Hazardous Waste Disposal needs, the Okaloosa County HazMat Center is your answer! They can be reached at (850) 301-2013. They are open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday; no appointment needed! They take paint, pesticides, used oil filters, pool chemicals, batteries, gas, solvents, paint products, tar, automotive chemicals, fluorescent bulbs, smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, computer monitors, etc., and is free of charge to residential customers.

Tires can be disposed of FREE at the South Okaloosa County Transfer Station and they can be reached at (850) 651-7394. This applies only to local households, not businesses. Tire sizes are limited to passenger and light truck tires. 5 – tires per household/per month.
