UPDATE: Citywide Tree Trimming Project

UPDATE: FWB Tree Trimming Project
This project has been postponed from the month of February to March and is set to begin on Monday, March 20th.

Fort Walton Beach—To maintain the safety and drivability for motorists, the city of Fort Walton Beach will work with its contractor to prune the tree limbs on City streets during the month of March. Keeping the tree canopy sixteen feet above roadways is required for the safe passage of larger vehicles like buses, sanitation trucks, and RVs, however, cutting the trees back behind the power lines is not within the scope of this project.

“All areas have been evaluated and the most needed areas will be trimmed first,” said Recreation Director Jeff Peters. Upcoming work will proceed in the following order:

  • Beachview Drive
  • Highway Avenue
  • Mooney/Kenwood Area
  • Brooks/Bay Drive

Coastline Tree Service will work westward following the Brooks/Bay Drive area. For questions regarding this project, or to report low lying tree limbs within the city limits of Fort Walton Beach, please contact the City’s Right of Way Supervisor, Carrie Urosevic, at (850)855-1966.
