The theme of the 2013 City of Fort Walton Beach Christmas Parade is “Candy Canes & Christmas Carols” and will take place on Monday, December 2, 2013 at 6:30 p.m. along Eglin Parkway in Fort Walton Beach. This theme provides for a broad range of ideas to be incorporated. Participants are encouraged to decorate their float using Candy Canes and/or a favorite Christmas Carol. The annual parade will kick off the Holiday Season on the Emerald Coast.
Musical entertainment will be provided by area school bands and participating applicants as the parade march moves up Eglin Parkway from First Street to the K-Mart parking lot.
Parade Officials are eagerly looking forward to an exciting and entertaining evening and encourage all schools, bands, youth groups, churches and businesses, as well as civic, military, religious and service organizations to participate.
The parade entries will be divided into five (5) different categories and the following awards will be presented:
Best Marching Entry (Bands & Military Units)
Best Youth Organization Entry
Best Religious Organization Entry
Best Service Entry
Best Commercial Business Entry
A panel of prominent citizens will judge the event and the winners will be awarded plaques and recognized at the December 10, 2013 City Council Meeting.

The deadline to submit a parade application is November 27, 2013 at 5:30 p.m.
